“The Godly are designed for unknown and unconceivable happiness.” – Jonathan Edwards

Obviously, this unknown, unconceivable happiness of which Edwards speaks is found in the mystery of who He is, what He has done, and what He will do. It means that you will be rich in the grace of God and He will satisfy your ever wandering heart with all that He is.

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” – 1 Cor 2:9

So I found this one over at the Desiring God site. I really enjoyed it and pray that this is the way I will see and worship God.

“Nothing makes God more supreme and more central in worship than when a people are utterly persuaded that nothing–not money or prestige or leisure or family or job or health or sports or toys or friends–nothing is going to bring satisfaction to their sinful, guilty, aching hearts besides God.”

—John Piper, God’s Passion for His Glory, p. 41.

“If the enjoyment of God Himself is not the final and best gift of love, then God is not the greatest treasure, His self-giving is not the highest mercy, the gospel is not the good news that sinners may enjoy their Maker, Christ did not suffer to bring us to God, and our souls must look beyond Him for satisfaction.”

-John Piper, God is the Gospel, pg12
